Do you replay conversations, worry about making the wrong decision or think about something so much that you end up doing nothing?
Thinking things through can help you make good choices. But sometimes thinking turns into replaying, worrying, second-guessing and imagining every possible outcome.
It simply helps you notice whether certain thinking habits may sometimes be making decisions, conversations or everyday challenges harder than they need to be.
Answer based on what you usually do, rather than what you think you should do.
Choose the answer that feels most like you.
Think of one thing you’ve been overthinking recently.
Now ask: “What is one small action I could take in the next 24 hours?”
Don’t aim for the perfect decision. Aim for useful movement.
Overthinking doesn’t always look like worrying. Sometimes it can look like being very careful, preparing too much or trying to make the perfect decision.
Going back over conversations, mistakes or moments and wondering what you should have done differently.
Imagining lots of possible things that could go wrong before something has even happened.
Waiting for certainty, reassurance or the perfect plan before taking action.
The goal is to notice when thinking has stopped helping.
A useful Bravory question is:
“Do I need more thinking — or do I need one small action?”
Confidence often grows after we act, not before.
Overthinking less is easier when you trust yourself more.
The Bravory 6-Week Confidence Programme helps teenagers and young adults understand self-doubt, build self-belief, communicate more confidently, become more resilient and practise taking action even when they don’t feel completely ready.
