Subject: Bravory confidence-building school talk
Hello,
I thought this might be of interest to the school.
Bravory provides confidence-building talks and workshops for secondary schools, helping students develop self-belief, resilience, communication and independence.
The signature school talk is called Build Your Brave Story and is delivered by Adrian Close, a Derbyshire-based leadership and management trainer who also has experience working with young people through school leadership development and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
The talk includes Adrian's own confidence journey, his Kilimanjaro story and practical confidence-building activities designed to help students take small brave steps rather than simply being told to "be more confident".
There are versions for Years 7–9, Years 10–11 and Sixth Form or College students.
It can also include a free Teen Confidence Test, Brave Story Workbook, 30-Day Confidence Challenge and the Bravory Teen Confidence Index.
I thought it could be worth considering for an assembly, PSHE session, personal development activity or student enrichment programme.
More information is available at: www.bravory.co.uk
Adrian can also be contacted directly through the Bravory website.
Best wishes
What Is the Bravory School Talk?
Build Your Brave Story is an inspirational confidence-building talk designed specifically for teenagers and young adults.
Adrian uses his own story - including struggling with confidence as a teenager, losing almost everything he associated with success later in life, rebuilding through resilience and eventually climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - to help young people understand that confidence is something that can be developed.
Pole Pole. Slowly, slowly. One brave step at a time.
The aim is not to turn quieter students into louder ones. It is to help young people become more confident in who they already are.
Three Versions for Different Stages
Years 7–9
Building self-belief, speaking up, friendships, dealing with mistakes and taking small brave actions.
Years 10–11
Confidence under pressure, decision-making, fear of failure, communication and preparing for the next stage after GCSEs.
Sixth Form & College - Ready for Life
Interview confidence, independence, handling rejection, professional communication and preparing for work, apprenticeships, university and adult life.
Why Recommend It?
Sometimes a parent can see that their teenager has ability, but confidence is getting in the way.
They may avoid speaking up, worry too much about what others think, struggle after setbacks or lack confidence when making decisions.
Bravory is not therapy or counselling. It is practical confidence and personal development training for young people.
Before they leave school, every teenager should know how to speak up, handle setbacks, make decisions, communicate with confidence and believe they have something valuable to offer.
